Dr. David Ray has been creating beautiful smiles for over 20 years! He has 14 years of college and professional training, graduating Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He also earned a Master’s of Science in Physiology during dental school and completed an Oral Medicine residency emphasizing TMD and a Certificate in Orthodontic specialty training from one of the original and highly regarded orthodontic programs, The University of Illinois in Chicago.
Dr. Ray began his career as an associate in orthodontics, working with several practices in Columbus learning different practice techniques and theories. In 1992, he opened his own practice in Westerville.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, the highest achievement in education, evaluation and excellence in orthodontics. Dr. Ray maintains active memberships in many professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), The Foundation for Orthodontic Research (FOR), American Dental Association (ADA), Ohio Dental Association (ODA), Ohio Association of Orthodontists (OAO), Columbus Dental Society (CDS), and the Worthington Dental Study Club. He is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary Dental Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the National Registry of Who’s Who.
Dr. Ray believes in a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care to his patients. Through continuous review of scientific literature, postgraduate courses, and group involvement, Dr. Ray maintains an innovative approach to advances in orthodontics. He consistently attends courses that reflect 3‐4 times the amount of continuing education required by the state.
In giving back to the community, Dr. Ray participates in Dental Options (financial assistance) and Dental Connections (troubled children) for the city and state Department of Health. He donates approximately 1-3 cases per year. He is also a proud supporter of many sports teams, projects and charities.
Dr. Ray is married to Dr. Sharrie Ray, Internal Medicine physician and Founder of Ray Learning Center. They have three children: Chris, Nic, & Brandi. In his leisure time, he loves traveling and vacationing at Disney World.
